New Meadows

New Meadows is a housing program in North Portland’s Dorothy Lemelson House that provides youth aging out of foster care with a safe place to live as they develop life skills and prepare for adulthood. The program has 14 single-occupancy apartments (four one-bedroom units and ten studio units), each with its own kitchen and bathroom.

The complex also has additional shared space (community kitchen, dining area, laundry, essentials pantry) and is connected to Bridge Meadows’ multigenerational community.

To be eligible for New Meadows, you must:

Be 18-24 years old

Complete 36 productive hours weekly (work/school/counseling/etc.)

Engage in case management

Pay a monthly program fee

Attend monthly house meetings

Youth must be in care and custody until their 18th birthday
