2023 Guest Brewers

Legends who need no introduction, 3 Fonteinen brews and blends some of our favorite beers on the planet. Their respect for history and tradition are unmatched, but it is their distinct vision for the future that impresses us just as much. Their support of our cause goes above and beyond – past auction items like the 3F experience have not only raised considerable sums, but provided the winners with truly unique, once-in-a-lifetime windows into their world. Beyond that, they are pure class and some of the genuinely nicest people we know in the beer industry. We can’t wait to see how our collaboration turns out, and for what they’ll have in store for everyone at this year’s event!
From the 3 Fonteinen team:
Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen is one of the smallest and last remaining traditional lambik brewers and geuze blenders.
Founded in 1882 and rooted in the Senne valley, our team steadfastly pursues what Armand Debelder had envisioned all along for 3 Fonteinen. From brewing with heirloom varieties of barley, wheat and hops from local organic farmers, to reviving the Schaarbeekse sour cherry legacy, to slowing down the crafting process overall: The mission is to be true to the origins of lambik and to put quality and tradition above all.
Representing 3 Fonteinen at the events, Werner Van Obberghen, co-owner, started in 2013 to plan for the long term alongside Armand and Michaël Blancquaert. Nowadays, he is responsible for managing the business side. We are thrilled to welcome Werner to Portland for Brews 2023!

Beyond making some of the best beers in town across an incredibly large spectrum of styles, Ruse Brewing has wholeheartedly supported the New Avenues for Youth mission to end youth homelessness since their inception. From letting us use their cooler space to store donation kegs, hosting Cap & Cork Crew events, and donating their best to tap at the event, to using the Brews van at their outdoor beer garden, they’ve helped us in every way they can. They’re also amazing people and friends. We love working with them and can’t wait to see what’s they have for us this year!
From the Ruse team:
Ruse is a humbly sized brewery who plans its growth and makes all of its decisions with its team in mind. We love to brew beers of all styles without limitations; we are constantly trying to keep our patrons surprised. All of our beers are collaborative explorations between our brew team. Every brewer has creative say. Ruse does not have a Head Brewer – we believe this is what makes our beer unique and constantly evolving.
Ruse loves planning events, and we regularly have live music, local art shows and tons of other community events. We also love to pour beer out of the Brews for New Avenues van any chance we get! Although we are not a large brewery, we try to help out as often as possible. NAFY always hosts amazing events and it is great to see how much they are able to raise every year to help end youth homelessness. We can’t wait to see what kind of collaboration we are able to come up with the Brews for New Avenues team.

2022 Guest Brewers

One of our favorite long-time local supporters and frequent VIP guest pourers, Logsdon Farmhouse Ales remains a steadfast staple of the Pacific Northwest scene. Their brews run the gammut from standard bearers like Peche ‘n Brett to finely tuned lagers and classic IPAs. John, Jodie, Shilpi and Mark are some of the most genuine and generous people around, and we’re thrilled to have them on board for 2022!

Hailing from Capitola & Santa Cruz, California, Sante Adairius Rustic Ales is well known the world over for their barrel-aged mixed fermentation creations, but those who delve deeper into their catalog will find they make incredible products across the entire beer spectrum. Adair, Tim, and their staff are some of the nicest and most authentic people in the business, and we’re beyond excited to have them as our out-of-town guests!
